The Mission: Build the Fastest M140i on the Nordschleife

When Andrew experienced an off-track moment at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in May 2023 behind the wheel of his BMW M140i, it didn’t end the story, it sparked a new one. That moment became the turning point in our mission to transform the car into a no-compromise, full-blown track weapon.

Since then, the M140i has undergone a complete evolution. Every component has been scrutinised, upgraded, or replaced in pursuit of one goal: raw, relentless speed. The transformation was capped off in August 2024 with the installation of the bespoke KCW Bodyshop 1-of-1 bodykit, giving the car a unique, aggressive presence to match its performance.

But we’re not just building a fast hatchback, we’re chasing something far more ambitious. Our aim is clear: to create the fastest M140i ever to lap the Nürburgring, with a BTG time well under 7:20, capable of running alongside the fiercest BMWs ever made.

This is more than a project. It’s an obsession.

KCW BMW M140i Spec

Our M140i has already seen some serious upgrades in 2025, and we’re only just getting started.

Earlier this year, we focused on weight reduction with the replacement of the bonnet and front doors with lightweight carbon/kevlar components, while the rear doors and bootlid were swapped out for fibreglass to help shed even more mass. To complement the aggressive new look (and improve aero) we’ve added a huge carbon rear wing, delivering real downforce where it matters most.

We’ve also started tackling cooling limitations by fitting a Wagner intake manifold, helping to manage intake temps more effectively under load. This lays the groundwork for future performance enhancements.

Looking ahead to August, the rear brakes will be upgraded to AP Pro5000Rs, providing serious stopping power to match what's coming. We're preparing for methanol injection and larger injectors, with a projected output of 700+ bhp on the horizon.

The end goal? To break the 500bhp-per-tonne barrier and create the ultimate track-focused M140i, built not just for straight-line numbers, but for total performance on the limit.
